Gary Strickland retired after being the official scorekeeper for Wake Forest basketball for 42 years. He is a dedicated member of the Wake Forest family. To honor Gary, we are organizing a comedy roast at Forsyth Country Club on December 9, 2025. Coach Forbes, Coach Odom, Stan Cotten, basketball official Lawson Newton, and comedian Alonzo Bodden will be there to roast Gary that night.
All of the profits from this event will go to a 501-C3 charity called Santa's Helper. This organization, now in its 40th year, utilizes Wake Forest athletes to wrap, bag and deliver (with Deacon Santas) gifts and books to 1000+ children each year.
Come enjoy a fun night with Gary and help support this worthwhile charity.
